The Case of Claire Inglis

Claire Inglis was a 33-year-old Scottish woman murdered by her boyfriend, Christopher McGowan, on 4 November 2021. After only a few months together, McGowan moved into Claire's home while on bail for unrelated offences. He subjected her to a sustained and brutal assault that resulted in her death. McGowan was later convicted of murder and sentenced to life imprisonment.

Claire Inglis lived in Glasgow, Scotland, and had entered into a relationship with Christopher McGowan during 2021. Although the relationship was relatively new, McGowan moved into her home despite being on bail for unrelated criminal offences.
