Modus Operandi - Body Disposal

Fotis Dulos became the focus of an internationally publicized criminal investigation after his estranged wife, Jennifer Dulos, disappeared from New Canaan, Connecticut, on May 24, 2019. Prosecutors alleged that Dulos murdered Jennifer during a contentious divorce and child custody dispute before attempting to dispose of evidence. He pleaded not guilty to all charges but died by suicide in January 2020 before his trial began. Jennifer Dulos has never been found and is legally presumed dead.

Joel David Rifkin became one of the most infamous serial killers in American history after murdering at least 17 women in New York between 1989 and 1993. Most of his victims were women involved in sex work or struggling with substance abuse, many of whom initially disappeared without attracting widespread attention. Rifkin's crimes ended following a routine traffic stop that led police to discover the body of his final victim in his vehicle. He was later convicted of multiple murders and sentenced to more than 200 years in prison.

Danny Johnson became one of Columbus, Ohio's most notorious domestic killers after murdering his girlfriend, 46-year-old Cathleen "Kit Kat" Howatt, at a homeless encampment near the Scioto River in April 2016. The killing followed a violent altercation witnessed by nearby residents who had become accustomed to Johnson's abuse of Howatt. Following a jury trial in 2017, Johnson was convicted of murder and sentenced to life imprisonment with the possibility of parole after 15 years.

The Tammi Pointer Killers refers to the group of six offenders responsible for the abduction, prolonged assault, murder, and burning of 18-year-old Alishah "Tammi" Pointer in Gary, Indiana, in October 1990. The offenders acted together throughout the crime, which culminated in Pointer being set on fire while still alive. The case remains one of Indiana's most notorious group murders because of its extreme violence, multiple perpetrators, and the lengthy prison sentences imposed following their convictions.

William Devon Howell became one of Connecticut's most infamous serial killers after murdering seven women between 2003 and 2005. Most of his victims were vulnerable women struggling with addiction or involved in sex work in the Hartford area. Howell concealed six of the victims in a wooded location later dubbed the "Garden of Graves," making him the most prolific serial killer in Connecticut's recorded history.

John Cole became one of the United Kingdom's most reviled child killers after murdering five-year-old Logan Mwangi alongside his stepfather, Angharad Williamson, in Bridgend, South Wales, in 2021. Logan suffered prolonged abuse before being fatally assaulted and his body was abandoned in a nearby river. Following a high-profile trial, Cole was convicted of murder despite being only 14 years old at the time of the offence, making him one of the youngest people convicted of murder in modern Welsh criminal history.

Hadden Irving Clark became one of America's most infamous convicted murderers after killing six-year-old Michelle Dorr in 1986 and Laura Houghteling in 1992. Known for his erratic behaviour, cross-dressing, and extensive claims that he committed numerous additional murders, Clark has remained a controversial figure in criminal investigations. While many of his confessions have never been corroborated, his two confirmed murders continue to attract significant attention from investigators and true crime researchers.

John Reginald Halliday Christie became one of the United Kingdom's most infamous serial killers after murdering multiple women, including his wife, at his home in Notting Hill, London, during the 1940s and early 1950s. His crimes, committed at 10 Rillington Place, led to one of Britain's greatest miscarriages of justice when Timothy Evans was wrongly convicted and executed before Christie's guilt was uncovered. The case remains one of the most significant in British criminal history.
