David Russell Williams is a former Canadian military officer and convicted murderer. He served as a Colonel in the Royal Canadian Air Force and even commanded CFB Trenton, one of Canada’s largest and most important airbases. His career appeared highly successful — he was a pilot, flew VIPs including the Prime Minister and Governor General, and was well respected within the military. However, in 2010, he was arrested and convicted for a series of heinous crimes, including: Two counts of first-degree murder (Jessica Lloyd, age 27, and Corporal Marie-France Comeau, age 38 — the latter also a fellow service member) Two sexual assaults involving home invasions Dozens of fetish-related break-ins where he stole women’s underwear and documented the acts with photos Williams’s arrest shocked Canada because of his high military rank and trusted position. After pleading guilty, he was sentenced in 2010 to two concurrent life sentences with no possibility of parole for 25 years. He was stripped of his rank, military honors, and uniform, which were later destroyed. He is currently serving his sentence at a maximum-security prison in Quebec.
