In a case shrouded in mystery, Texas father Domingo Quintana claimed his wife tried to drown their three children in a pond after allegedly giving them NyQuil mixed with vodka — but investigators say his own actions are now raising new questions. Though not charged in the near-drowning, Quintana was arrested the same day for animal cruelty, and a police lieutenant has since been suspended for visiting him in jail under suspicious circumstances. Rainor Joiner, 23, faces a number of charges including first-degree murder, conspiracy and tampering with evidence in the death of Matthew McLaughlin in Taos County, New Mexico. Detectives say Joiner confessed to shooting McLaughlin in the chest and head on July 25 because he was "running his mouth." In Charleston, South Carolina, 22-year-old Travis Green Jr. was gunned down in his car during what police say began as a plan to rob him over drug money — a scheme allegedly orchestrated by his own cousin, Antonio Green. Investigators discovered Antonio and two accomplices set up Travis under the guise of a drug deal, leading to the fatal shooting after a dispute over price. A jury later found Antonio guilty of murder, sentencing him to 33 years in prison, while his co-defendants also received lengthy sentences for their roles in the deadly plot. Authorities in Brazoria County, Texas, say 31-year-old Oninda Romelus shot her four children before calling 911. Deputies found two of the children dead and two others critically injured inside her car at a gas station, with court records revealing Romelus later told investigators, “Instead of them doing it to me, I’m going to do it to them.” She now faces two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated assault, with a $14 million bond set.
