Aaron Campbell became one of Scotland's most infamous child killers after abducting and murdering seven-year-old Megan Montgomery in Airdrie, North Lanarkshire, in 2020. Campbell lured the child from outside her home before killing her and concealing her body in nearby woodland. Following an extensive police investigation, he was convicted of murder and sentenced to life imprisonment with one of the longest minimum terms imposed in Scotland for the murder of a child.

Adam Montgomery is an American father who was convicted in 2024 of the second-degree murder of his five-year-old daughter, Harmony Montgomery. Prosecutors alleged that he fatally assaulted Harmony in December 2019 before concealing her death, transporting her body and later disposing of her remains. Harmony was reported missing nearly two years later, prompting a nationwide investigation. Montgomery was also convicted of second-degree assault, abuse of a corpse, falsifying physical evidence and witness tampering. He was sentenced to a minimum of 56 years' imprisonment, with the murder sentence to be served consecutively to his other sentences.

Alphonse Gabriel "Al" Capone became one of the most notorious organized crime figures in American history after dominating Chicago's underworld during the Prohibition era. As the leader of the Chicago Outfit, Capone oversaw bootlegging, gambling, prostitution, extortion, and numerous violent crimes throughout the 1920s. Although strongly linked to many murders, including the infamous Saint Valentine's Day Massacre, Capone was ultimately convicted of tax evasion rather than homicide. His criminal empire and public notoriety made him one of the most recognizable gangsters of the twentieth century.

Al-Mutahan McLean is an American man convicted of the prolonged abuse and murder of his 10-year-old son in Dayton, Ohio, in 2019. The case became nationally known due to the sustained nature of the abuse and the severity of the conditions the child endured over several years. He later pleaded guilty to multiple charges and received a lengthy prison sentence, with the case highlighting both extreme intra-family violence and systemic failures in child protection oversight.

Anders Behring Breivik is a Norwegian domestic terrorist responsible for the 2011 attacks in Oslo and on the island of Utøya, the deadliest act of violence in Norway since World War II. His coordinated attack involved a car bombing followed by a mass shooting, resulting in 77 deaths. Breivik was arrested on the day of the attacks and later convicted of terrorism and mass murder. He received the maximum sentence under Norwegian law, with provisions allowing for indefinite extension based on continued risk.

Angela Wagner was a central participant in the Wagner family conspiracy that resulted in the Pike County massacre, one of the deadliest family murder cases in Ohio history. Along with her husband George "Billy" Wagner III and sons George Wagner IV and Edward "Jake" Wagner, she helped plan the murders of eight members of the Rhoden family during a custody dispute involving Jake Wagner's daughter. Angela pleaded guilty in 2021 to multiple charges, including conspiracy and aggravated burglary, and agreed to testify against her family members in exchange for the dismissal of the aggravated murder charges. She was sentenced to 30 years in prison and will not be eligible for release until the early 2050s.

Arthur John Shawcross became one of America's most infamous serial killers after murdering 14 people in New York between 1972 and 1989. After serving a prison sentence for killing two children, Shawcross was released on parole and later went on to murder at least 12 women in the Rochester area. His crimes remained unsolved for several years before investigators linked him to the murders through surveillance, witness testimony, and forensic evidence. Shawcross was sentenced to 250 years in prison, where he remained until his death in 2008.

Elizabeth Anne "Betty" Broderick was convicted of murdering her ex-husband, Daniel T. Broderick III, and his new wife, Linda Kolkena Broderick, in San Diego, California, on November 5, 1989. After years of an increasingly bitter marriage, divorce and custody dispute, Betty entered the couple's home using a key she had obtained from one of her children and fired five shots from a .38-caliber revolver, killing both while they slept. She surrendered to police later that day. After her first trial ended in a hung jury, Broderick was convicted of two counts of second-degree murder at a second trial in 1991 and sentenced to 32 years to life imprisonment. She died in custody on May 8, 2026, aged 78.
