Vicki Wegerle Murder

The murder of Vicki Wegerle demonstrated BTK’s continued ability to operate undetected. The attack occurred inside her home and followed the same pattern of control and strangulation. The case included one of the few known images taken by Rader of a victim.

Rader gained entry by posing as a telephone repairman. He restrained and strangled Wegerle, maintaining his established method.

The case was connected to BTK through similarities in method, though no arrest was made.
