
On April 19, 1995, Timothy McVeigh carried out a truck bombing at the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. The attack remains one of the deadliest acts of domestic terrorism in United States history. The bombing was premeditated and targeted a federal facility.
A truck bomb detonated outside the building, causing catastrophic structural damage. The blast destroyed a large portion of the structure.
Authorities quickly determined the explosion was intentional and began a large-scale investigation.
