Kathryn Bright Murder Case

The murder of Kathryn Bright was the second known BTK attack and demonstrated Rader’s persistence and evolving methods. Unlike the Otero case, this attack involved resistance from victims. The incident provided early evidence of the killer’s willingness to adapt.

Rader entered the home and attempted to control both victims. A struggle occurred, leading to gunfire. Kathryn was killed, while Kevin survived despite serious injuries.

The survival of Kevin Bright provided critical information about the attacker, though it did not lead to identification.
