The Blue Rock Springs shooting marked the Zodiac Killer’s second confirmed attack and demonstrated escalation. Unlike the first attack, one victim survived, providing critical information. The killer later contacted police, confirming his involvement.

The attacker approached the parked car, fired multiple shots, briefly left, then returned to fire additional rounds. This behavior demonstrated control and intent to ensure death.
