In today's marathon of true crime, we delved into two chilling cases. First, the program detailed the 1991 murders of Leslie Howell and Trevor Buchanan in Coleraine, Northern Ireland. Initially dismissed as a double suicide, it was later revealed that dentist Colin Howell, who was having an affair with Trevor's wife, Hazel Stewart, orchestrated their deaths. Howell's confession years later led to both him and Stewart being convicted of murder. Second, we examined the 2004 parricide committed by Brian Blackwell in the UK. This brilliant student, driven by a desire to impress a girlfriend, spun a web of lies and accumulated massive debt. When confronted by his parents, he brutally murdered them before using their credit cards for a lavish vacation. Blackwell was later diagnosed with Narcissistic Personality Disorder and pleaded guilty to manslaughter due to diminished responsibility.
