On June 12, 2020, police were called to a Wendy’s in Atlanta, Georgia. 27-year-old Rayshard Brooks was asleep in his car, which he had parked in the middle of the drive-thru lane. Although the encounter began peacefully, nearly 45 minutes later, the situation made a deadly escalation.
