Awake the Rapper was a small-time artist from Illinois who held a small following online. But behind the screen, something within him was unravelling. His videos were unsettling enough already, and his lyrics were laced with subtle queues of violence. Over time, his online world grew darker, more chaotic, and more disturbing.
