It was a mild and muddy afternoon in the winter of 2009 in Coldwater, Michigan. An elementary school teacher, wife and mother is found shot to death in the bathroom of her family’s farmhouse. The house has been ransacked. There are items missing. Her husband who returned home to find her is inconsolable. The detectives believe that the scene contained a series of red flags. The victim found in the shower but the bathtub is dry. An intruder and thief appears to have broken in - but there is no mud from outside anywhere on the floor. The husband had an airtight alibi.
