In July of 2012, Dr. Joseph Sonnier, was found shot AND stabbed to death in his home. After investigating further, detectives believed that ANOTHER doctor was behind it... Dr. Thomas Michael Dixon, a plastic surgeon from Amarillo Texas. But of course, the good doctor couldn't get his own hands dirty. His long time friend, David Shephard may have been the one to actually commit the crime. Here is David Shephard's Interrogation (SPOILERS BELOW) David Shepard accepted a plea deal for Dr. Sonnier’s murder in 2013 and is currently serving a life in prison sentence. It was found that the two doctors knew each other through an ex-girlfriend of Dr. Dixon. She started dating Dr. Sonnier shortly after their relationship ended. Dr. Dixon paid David Shephard $10,000 in silver bars, and a box of Cuban cigars... Dr. Dixon was convicted of the murder in 2015, but, actually had his conviction overturned after an appeal in 2018, where he was released on bond awaiting his retrial...
