Richard Chase was an American serial killer, cannibal and necrophiliac who slaughtered 6 people in the space of a single month between December 1977 and January 1978 in California leading to him being dubbed “The vampire of Sacramento”. He was a dangerously disturbed young man whose crimes were especially heinous as he murdered a men, women and children apparently picking people at random, taking unlocked doors as a sign that he was welcome inside.
