Today’s true crime case is about Peter Kürten, known as the "The Vampire of Düsseldorf", a German serial killer who was convicted 9 people, with 8 of these crimes occurring in the space of 8 months in 1929. He also attempted to kill many many more. However, this is likely an under estimation of the true horror of this man’s crimes and it is believed that he may have ended the lives of over 60 people. He used a variety of methods to end the lives of the women and children he targeted including stabbing them with scissors and knives and beating them to death with a hammer before attempting to drink the blood of some of them. He was once called "the king of the sexual perverts", a man who got sexual arousal and achieved orgasm from seeing the blood of his victims whilst stabbing and slashing them. However, this is just the tip of the iceberg of this man’s absolute depravity which consumed every aspect of his life.
