In May 2023 27 year old Katie Higton was feeling positive about her future, she had escaped a violent relationship at the hands of Marcus Osborne, a man who had physically and verbally abused her for the last 3 years. She had reason to be hopeful, she had begun a new relationship with a 25 year old man called Steven Harnett and had reported her ex to the Police and he had been arrested.
