Today’s true crime case is about Ed Gein, known as the Butcher of Plainfield, who was a deeply disturbed man who in 1954 and 1957 killed 2 local women, Mary Hogan and Bernice Worden, in the village of Plainfield in the state of Wisconsin although he likely killed at least 3 and maybe more making him a serial killer. However, it is not just the fact that he killed 2 people which has led to him being the inspiration of some of the most famous characters in horror including Norman Bates from Psycho, Leatherface from the Texas chainsaw massacre and Buffalo Bill from Silence of the Lambs. It was what he did to his victims, his nocturnal actives and the content of his home which as meant that the name Gein has gone down in infamy.
