On 19th September 2021 Derbyshire Police in the UK received a phone call from Damien Bendall confessing to killing 4 people, including his pregnant partner, her 2 children and another child who was at the property for a sleepover. He also raped one of the children while they lay dying. This crime shocked the nation and led to a review which revealed serious failings in the management of this man’s case by people who should have been protecting the public.
