On Tuesday 19th March 2024 40-year-old Ashley Smylie was murdered in her home in the 200 block of Ashton Way in Brandon Mississippi. She was shot to death, not by an intruder or an abusive partner but by her own daughter 14 year old Carly Gregg. After killing her mother Carly then calmly sat down and invited a friend over to see her mother’s death before. She then lay in wait for her stepfather to return and after shooting him fled the scene. In Court it was argued that Carly Gregg was a deeply troubled mentally ill young lady who had no control over her actions but was this true? or is she a cold calculating evil killer.
