In early 2023, medical personnel at a hospital east of Houston received a diabetic patient who was not responding to their treatment. His condition, they said, made no sense. At his bedside, his wife was displaying what they called “theatrics.” When the patient, 46-year-old Joseph Hartsfield passed away his death left a number of unsettling questions. An investigation was launched, which began to uncover an unbelievable number of secrets, suspicions and tragic coincidences. At the centre of it all was his grieving widow.
