Around 6:30 p.m. on April 2nd, 2021, the Desoto County Sheriff's office in Arcadia, Florida, received a 911 call from a woman identifying herself as Joni Truman. When asked about her emergency, Joni Truman calmly stated, "I just killed my husband." She informed dispatch that she used a 9mm pistol and expressed her belief that she was "insane." Deputies hurried to Truman's residence, where they encountered two women outside, a moment captured on the following bodycam footage. Emergency Medical Services arrived at the scene and pronounced Gregory Truman, 38 years old, deceased. Joni Truman, his wife of 9 years, was promptly taken to the police department for an interview.
