On December 15th, 2022, Independence Kentucky Police were requested to do a well-being check. The catalyst was a disconcerting report from an HR manager at a local company. Amberly Harris, an employee, had mysteriously vanished for an entire week, failing to show up to work and remaining unresponsive to numerous attempts at contact. The HR manager, aware of Amberly's tumultuous relationship with her partner, Tommy Powell, grew increasingly anxious as Tommy was also unreachable. Company personnel took matters into their own hands, heading to the residence where they discovered both Amberly and Tommy's cars parked in the driveway.
