On June 30th, 2019, police in Ohio responded to a residence after receiving a missing persons report. The father of Air Force Sgt. Jason Hamrick informed officers that his adult son was going through a contentious divorce and had failed to meet him as planned in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Jasonās father expressed concern, explaining that his estranged wife, Angelina Hamrick, was not supposed to be at the residence and only had supervised visitation rights with their children. Officers made their way to the Hamrick residence, where they made contact with Angelina. She claimed she had not seen Jason in two days and stated that he had allowed her to stay at the home temporarily, as he couldnāt find adequate care for their children. During their conversation, police noted that Angelina did not appear concerned about Jasonās welfare. Instead, she told officers that her estranged husband had been having an affair, appearing dismissive of his absence. Officers conducted a search of the residence but found no signs of Jason. They officially entered him as a missing person, and the investigation was underway. However, just a few hours later, the local dispatch center received a 911 call that would change the trajectory of the case.
