The disturbing true crime story started with a brutal home invasion that became a kidnapping then turned into a murder. Police investigated the real life horror story, but the case went cold... until investigators realized that they could be dealing with a mistaken identity murder - and a more twisted true crime story than they ever could have imagined. Through a full police interrogation and a polygraph, they uncover a crime ring and solve one of the most shocking true crime stories to occur in the area. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In 2006, 31-year-old Daniel E. Ott and his girlfriend Maryann Ricker were attacked in their Ohio home. They were bound by the intruder. When Daniel got free, he was shot and killed. Police launched a homicide investigation, looking into anyone who could have a motive to murder Daniel... but they couldn't find a single strong suspect. Six months into the investigation, detectives learned that there was a Daniel C. Ott in the area - and he had already survived 2 assassination attempts. Shortly before the murder, he had agreed to testify against Joe Rosebrook, who was running a chop shop that disposed of stolen cars. Rosebrook was a suspect in a 1999 homicide of another man who testified against him in a different case. Could the murder have been a case of mistaken identity with Daniel C. Ott as the true target? When detectives check Rosebrook's timeline, they learn that he couldn't have been the one who shot Daniel E. Ott. Police tried to get anyone with information about the murder to speak up, but they were all terrified. Finally, after 9 years, a series of wire taps gives police enough information to bring Joe Rosebrook down to the station for questioning... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Channel Disclaimer: This video is for educational purposes to help understand police interrogation techniques and understand the mind of a murderer.
