Joanna Yates, a 25-year-old landscape architect, was murdered just days before Christmas 2010 by her neighbor, Vincent Tabak, a seemingly quiet Dutch engineer with a dark obsession. When Joanna’s boyfriend went away for the weekend, Tabak used her cat as an excuse to approach her, then attacked and strangled her after she rejected his advances. He hid her body in a bicycle cover, dumped it by a country road, and tried to carry on as if nothing happened.
