This JCS Inspired video shows the resource officer of a middle school detaining a 14-year-old girl who had taken part in a fight. On October 5, 2018, the resource officer, Tyler McCormick, was called by one of the teachers to report that several students had been involved in a physical altercation. One young girl made it to the office in tears, fearful of the other students. When McCormick arrived, he was told about one of the perpetrators, Rockell Baldwin. Baldwin was known at the school for causing fights and associating with students who had ties to gangs. When McCormick went to question Baldwin, she refused to stop or answer him and continued on her way out of the building. She later said she was just going to call her mother, but in spite of many chances to do so, she never verbalized this to McCormick. After making several attempts to get her to stop, McCormick was forced to follow procedure and physically detain McCormick.
