A 3-year-old Texas boy, Dawson Zamora, is fighting for his life after police say he was brutally beaten by his mother’s boyfriend, Christopher Alexander, and left with devastating injuries. Investigators allege Dawson’s mother, Chelsea Berg, knew about the abuse for weeks — text messages show she repeatedly accused her boyfriend of hurting her son but still left the child in his care. Now, both are facing serious charges: Alexander for injury to a child and other crimes, and Berg for injury to a child by omission, which could carry a sentence of up to life in prison if convicted.
