#crime #interrogation #trucrime This is a love triangle that goes terribly WRONG and ends in murder... This is the full interrogation and confession of Leonel Hernandez... Well, after watching this video, you would think that would pretty much be the end of it, right? Well, let me summarize the story for you, and then we will see where it is now. The victim in this one is Richard "Rick" Madrigal. Also known as DJ "Mardi Gras" a local radio station Disc Jockey. Rick was likely just one of Miranda Palacios love interests at the time. She was also living with her ex-husband (separated) and as you saw in this video, in a relationship with Leonel for about a year. So jealousy was likely a reason for the shooting, according to the prosecution. Leonel Hernandez does confess in this interrogation, and in 2019 he was convicted of Murder and sentenced to 50 years in prison... Well, the story doesn't end there, Hernandez would appeal the conviction stating that the blood spatter expert, Louis Akin, brought in by the defense was unethically criticized by the judge and the prosecution... The expert stated that there was no possible way Leonel Hernandez was the trigger man in the murder of Richard Madrigal. The state entered evidence to disqualify the experts testimony, and was later found to be submitted improperly and unethically. Leonel's defense attorney made this statement; "The fact is, the State of Texas gave immunity to the person who likely pulled the trigger and killed Richard Madrigal" The person he was talking about, was Miranda Palacios, who was given immunity to testify against Hernandez. Hernandez would win that appeal in June of 2022, the conviction was overturned, and a new trial would be granted.
