Her husband, Scott Peterson, had gone fishing for the morning and when he returned, his wife was gone. She was reported missing soon after, but her husband seemed largely unconcerned with helping to find his wife. To make matters worse, Scott had a girlfriend on the side that his missing wife didn’t know about. Scott soon told his mistress about his wife passing away, explaining how sad he was about her loss. But the thing is - no one knew that Laci had passed away. As far as police and the public knew, Laci was merely missing. Scott’s mistress reported this to the police, and they soon began to investigate Scott as their prime suspect. As you might expect, Scott was soon arrested and put on trial.
