The real life murder mystery began in the early morning hours of October 18, 2015, when 911 dispatchers in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida received a call from on-duty, plainclothes police officer, Nouman Raja. Raja told 911 that he had just confronted and shot an armed man after stopping to investigate a vehicle pulled over on a highway off-ramp. The man, later identified to be 31-year-old assistant property manager and musician Corey Jones, had allegedly tried to run. Raja said he fired multiple shots in response - in a story that sounded like a scene in a real life thriller. When other officers arrived to investigate the shocking true crime case, they found Corey dead from three gunshot wounds. As the unbelievable true crime story hit the news, the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office launched an independent investigation of the incident. Investigators have Raja - along with his attorney - participate in a full police interrogation and re-enactment of the shooting.
