Initial leads focused on a white van, but the lack of evidence led to a frantic, widespread investigation where local and federal agencies like the FBI and ATF poured resources into tracking an invisible predator. The killer, eventually revealed to be a sniper using a high-powered AR-15 rifle, began communicating, mocking the police with a note that chillingly demanded: "Call me God."
