Maureen Cosgrove, a beloved 65-year-old community figure, was murdered in 2009 by George Maben, a drifter dating her daughter Clare. After moving into the family home, Maben clashed with Maureen over his freeloading and negative influence. When Maureen kicked him out, fearing for Clare and her unborn child, Maben plotted and killed her. His alibi was undone by CCTV and phone evidence, and he was ultimately caught and convicted.
