Where on Friday, April 13, 2018, this Florida Man, 40-years-old at the time, Robert Nixon Kern stands accused of murdering a 16 year old girl. Her name is Justis Garrett, and is the daughter of his then girlfriend. Justis Garrett, 16, was found dead on April 18, 2018 in DeLand. Robert Kern supposedly dropped her of at school and was the last person to see her alive. He was brought in for questioning two days in a row, these are both of those interrogations. (SPOILERS BELOW) Kern was taken into custody in February 2019 by the Suffolk County (NY) Police Department on fraud charges stemming from a case in Volusia County. He was extradited to Florida and subsequently arrested on a second-degree murder charge. On August 8, 2022, a jury took about 30 minutes to convict Robert Kern Jr. of first-degree felony murder for killing his then-girlfriend's 16-year-old daughter in 2018 and leaving her body in a wooded area in DeLand.
