On February 17, 2004, police arrived at a Walthamstow property responding to a bizarre report of a severed arm. They found Peter Bryant, recently released from a psychiatric hospital, covered in blood. Inside, they discovered Brian Cherry’s dismembered body with a fractured skull. Bryant admitted to eating Cherry’s brain with butter, claiming it was "really nice."

On February 26, 2026, Ian Huntley, a convicted child killer, was attacked at HMP Frankland and died on March 7. Anthony Russell, a multiple murderer and serial killer, including a pregnant woman, was implicated in his death. Some individuals controversially suggested honoring Russell for his actions.

Gloucestershire Police discovered a woman in her 40s with learning disabilities, held captive and severely neglected for 25 years by Amanda Wixon, in March 2021. The investigation revealed extreme cruelty, leading to Wixon’s prosecution for slavery and abuse.

On January 3, 2022, Sheila and Clay Fletcher reported their daughter Lacey’s death, discovered by paramedics in their Louisiana home. Lacey, 36, was found emaciated, fused to a sofa, covered in excrement, and infested with maggots, having remained in that state for 12 years.

A man in Europe used his father’s face as a mask, while a mobster began by cooking cat and dog meat before killing, dismembering, and eating three associates, later exchanging human flesh recipes with a psychiatrist. Both cases highlight extreme criminal behavior.

On August 26, 2015, during a live news broadcast in Roanoke, Virginia, Alison Parker and camera operator Adam Ward were killed by Bryce Williams, later identified as Vester Lee Flanagan, a former network employee with a history of narcissistic behavior and legal disputes. The attack occurred during a live interview, leaving Vicki Gardner seriously injured. Flanagan, who had been fired from the network two and a half years prior, later recorded the event.

On March 17, 2014, Cherylee Shennan was killed by her partner Paul O’Hara, who attacked her with a hammer after previously murdering a former partner. O’Hara had been released from custody despite his history. In May 2026, Ryan Kelly killed Jo Shaw with a grenade after confronting her at her home. Both cases involved violent, premeditated attacks by offenders with prior criminal records.

On April 23, 2006, three members of the Richardson family were found murdered in Medicine Hat, Canada, including 8-year-old Jacob. Twelve-year-old Jasmine was missing but not a victim. A man claiming to be a 300-year-old werewolf was linked to the killings as part of a twisted love story.

In July 2004, 17-year-old Terry Lee Hurst was attacked by Rebecca Peeters, John Sawdon, and Jermaine James during a camping trip. The perpetrators, armed with stolen scythes, subjected him to a prolonged assault causing severe injuries, including a broken jaw. A scythe was found embedded in his neck post-mortem. The trio showed no remorse after the attack.

On 30 December 2002, a homeless man discovered severed legs in bins near Camden’s College Arms pub, leading to the recovery of eight bags of human remains, including a torso. Police identified local man Anthony Hardy via CCTV, later finding a victim’s torso in his flat. The case, linked to the Camden Ripper, involved the dismemberment of two women.

In 2007, 3-year-old Madeleine McCann vanished during a family holiday in Portugal. A Polish woman, Julia Wandelt, claimed to be her online since 2007, facing prison for stalking the McCanns. Despite evidence of her fraud, she retains a devoted following justifying her actions.
