Knox County deputies find themselves in a high-speed pursuit with a fleeing pickup truck going over 100 miles per hour. Deputies deploy spike strips near the county line and successfully flatten one of the truck’s tires as pursuing units close in. Seven of the occupants immediately exit the vehicle and flee into a wooded area, prompting an all-out search on foot. One passenger, a juvenile female, stayed by the truck. Deputies track down all seven of the suspects with the help of a K-9 officer. The driver was charged with felony evading and resisting arrest, while six passengers were given the latter charge. A Florida woman was met by police after calling 911 and reporting her roommate as a missing person. Gisselle Victoria-Gonzalez claimed she hasn't seen her roommate, Runyleidy Medina-Pacheco, since Christmas Day. Gisselle moved out of that Orlando apartment shortly after, while detectives investigated Runy's disappearance. Police in Indiana discovered the bodies of Samantha Jerrell and her 14-year-old son, Colton, buried in a shallow grave — after her ex-husband, Joshua Penick, initially denied knowing where they were. Investigators say Penick later confessed, admitting he strangled Samantha and buried them together before leaving behind a chilling apology letter.
