On July 12, 2022, a shootout in Ray Township, Michigan, left 49-year-old Kimberly Mollicone dead and Daniele Giannone injured. Her husband, Matthew Mollicone, confronted Giannone at his home after discovering the affair, leading to gunfire. Kimberly was killed by Giannone’s bullet, but Matthew was convicted of voluntary manslaughter and assault, receiving a 12-40 year prison sentence in 2024. Giannone was not charged, citing self-defense.
In August 2017, 22-year-old Savanna Greywind, 8-months pregnant, went missing in Fargo, North Dakota. Her body was found in an apartment occupied by Brooke Crews and her boyfriend William Hoehn, who were later convicted in her death. The newborn Haisley Jo, found alive in the apartment, is now raised by her father and the Greywind family. Hoehn received a 20-year sentence after appeals.
On September 5, 2014, Demodrick Williams, 22, was fatally shot at Falcon Cove Apartments in Lubbock, Texas. Shavontae Johnson, 19, was interrogated regarding the incident but was never convicted. The circumstances remain unclear, with Johnson denying involvement.
On February 3, 2024, Juan Salinas reported his girlfriend, Cecilia Rodriguez, shot herself in the chest after a 911 call, but police found her dead with their children, a 1-month-old and 3-year-old, in the home. Salinas was convicted of murder in 2025 after evidence revealed his history of abuse and control, resulting in a life prison sentence and $10,000 fine.
On October 25, 2017, a robbery attempt in Columbus, Ohio, turned fatal when Sean Boyd died from gunshot wounds. Investigators identified Chazz Holman and Tariq Teasley as suspects, using security footage and witness accounts. Teasley was arrested in 2018 but charged with lesser offenses, receiving no jail time, while Holman faced murder charges.
In March 2011, 16-year-old Micaela Costanzo was lured to a remote desert area near the Utah border, beaten, and found buried in a shallow grave with her throat slit. Her ex-boyfriend, 18-year-old Kody Patten, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in 2012 and received a life sentence without parole. His fiancé was also questioned.

Phoenix man Luis Lino, 32, was arrested for stabbing neighbor Javier Martinez, 32, during an altercation that led to Martinez's death. Charged with first-degree murder, Lino was indicted for second-degree murder, pleaded guilty in 2021, received a 25-year sentence, and is scheduled for release in 2044.
In St. Croix County, Wisconsin, Nicolae Miu, 54, was convicted of first-degree reckless homicide and multiple counts of recklessly endangering safety after four teens were stabbed while tubing on the Apple River in 2022. He received a 20-year prison sentence with concurrent terms, including 270 days for battery, and 732 days credit.
Between 2007 and 2008, Gary Hilton was linked to murders in Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina, including the deaths of John Bryant, Irene Bryant, Cheryl Dunlap, and Meredith Emerson. He received life sentences for some killings and a death sentence for Cheryl Dunlap’s murder, which was upheld on appeal. Hilton remains on Florida’s death row, with his case still under appeal.
