Today’s true crime case takes us to 17th June 2019 when 32 year old Virginia McCullough murdered both of her parents at the home she shared with them in the village of Great Baddow in Essex in the UK. She poisoned her father John and then stabbed her mother Lois to death. As if this was not heinous enough, she then hid their bodies and lived in the same house with the remains of her parents for 4 years weaving an elaborate web of lies to convince friends, family and the authorities that they were still alive. Eventually, on Friday 15th September 2023, the Police came knocking but Virginia was not phased at all and immediately confessed. She continued to talk openly about murdering her parents and at no point showed any remorse or distress. Today’s true crime case takes us to 2005 when Carol and Reggie Sumner, a married couple in their 60s, were enjoying their retirement in Jacksonville, Florida. They were a kind generous pair who would take anyone under their wing and help anyone in need. One of these people was Tiffany Cole a woman they had known for years, who they had recently sold a car to and who was told that their door was always open to her if she was in the area. Cole, her boyfriend Michael Jackson and 2 others repaid this kindness by robbing the Sumners but not content with this, they decided to take their lives and their end was like something out of a nightmare with them being driven to a remote part of Georgia and buried alive. In August 1928 a woman called Jessie Clark travelled to a ranch in the town of Wineville in California to see her 15 year old brother Sanford who had moved to the property 2 years before. Sanford told his sister that he had been molested and abused from the moment he arrived and that at least 3 little boys had been raped and killed on the farm with him being forced to participate in the murders. On Tuesday 19th March 2024 40-year-old Ashley Smylie was murdered in her home in the 200 block of Ashton Way in Brandon Mississippi. She was shot to death, not by an intruder or an abusive partner but by her own daughter 14 year old Carly Gregg. After killing her mother Carly then calmly sat down and invited a friend over to see her mother’s death before. She then lay in wait for her stepfather to return and after shooting him fled the scene. In Court it was argued that Carly Gregg was a deeply troubled mentally ill young lady who had no control over her actions but was this true? or is she a cold calculating evil killer. Today’s true crime case takes us to Saturday 25th March 2023 when a walker noticed plastic bags floating in the River Witham in the village of Bassingham, Lincolnshire. Retrieving one of the bags he opened it and to his horror saw that it contained a human hand. Police descended on the scene and quickly established that the remains belonged to Holly Bramley a 26 year old woman who had been missing for a week. As the Police investigation unfolded it was discovered that 28 year old Nicholas Metson a sadistic psychopath, holly’s husband, had not only subjected her to years of domestic abuse, including killing her pets, but had ultimately murdered her and cut her body into more than 200 pieces. The subject of today’s true crime case is Jemma Mitchell who on 11th June 2021 was caught on CCTV struggling to pull 2 heavy suitcases down the road. In one of them was the decapitated body of a 67 year old Deborah Chong a woman who had considered Jemma a friend but, when Deborah refused to lend her £200,000 her life was forfeit. On 24 September 2022 a 10 year old boy was found lying at the base of a cliff in Ovingdean a village near Brighton in the UK. He had fallen approximately 100ft onto a concrete path but miraculously survived although with serious and life changing injuries. Police began investigating what they thought was an accident and this included talking a man at the scene called Anthony Stocks, who the boy had last been seen with, who claimed that he had gotten too close to the edge and fallen. However, detectives soon uncovered the horrific truth, this was no accident the boy had been pushed in an effort to silence him as he had found out that Stocks had been abusing his older sister for years beginning when she was around 10 years old. Stocks denied his offences and, in court, showing the evil sick man that he is, tried to claim that he was the one being sexually abused by his child victim. Today’s true crime case takes us to 18th September 2012 when, at 10.14am a 999 call was made to Greater Manchester Police reporting an attempted burglary at 30 Abbey Gardens in Mottram. This was a routine 999 call one that officers likely dealt with on a daily basis however the man calling, Dale Cregan, an extremely dangerous, one eyed psychopathic gangland killer was setting a trap. He was already wanted by Police for 2 murders and had decided to go out in a blaze of glory by murdering police officers. PCs Fiona Bone and Nicola Hughes attended and, as they approached the door, Cregan came out firing murdering both with a Glock handgun and throwing a grenade at the two defenceless policewomen as they lay dead or dying. Dale Cregan then calmly walked into a Police station and said “I dropped the gun at the scene and I’ve murdered two police officers. He was, at the age of just 25, making enough money to live a lifestyle far beyond the reach of many of us. Nicholas Rossi is an American serial rapist, career criminal, domestic abuser, fraudster and as pure an example of a narcissist that I think I have covered on this channel who in January 2020 whilst wanted by US authorities for a string of crimes announced that he had terminal cancer. A month later, his widow, who claimed her name was Louise, said that he was dead and relayed this information to media outlets in his home city of Providence, Rhode Island. However, almost 2 years later and 3000 miles away a man was admitted to a hospital in Glasgow Scotland, His tattoos, finger prints and DNA matched that of Nicholas Rossi but this man said that he was Arthur Knight an Irish orphan who had never been to America. He was married to a woman called Miranda Knight, who parroted her husband’s claims.
