Kevin and Lisa Knoefel were seemingly generous people who opened up their household to a foster daughter at one point in their marriage. Trouble teen Sabrina Zunich was placed in the Ohio couple's care when she was 16 years old. Not long after, Zunich got close with Kevin and their living situation took a dark turn. Lisa was ambushed and killed by Zunich, who was armed with a knife, in November 2012. When detectives arrested Zunich, she pointed the finger at Kevin and claimed he coerced her into killing her foster mom. The then-17-year-old pleaded guilty and testified against Kevin. Jahara Malik, 18, pleaded guilty to a manslaughter charge in the December 2024 death of her boyfriend, Yakheim "Keimo" Lollar. Jahara and Keimo were 17 when she stabbed him during an incident in a Miami parking garage. Keimo died days before Christmas. Six members of the Potabathula family were killed in a devastating head-on collision when a 17-year-old driver, later found to have THC in his system, attempted an unsafe pass on a two-lane highway the day after Christmas. The sole survivor, Lokesh Potabathula, was left paralyzed and learned of his family’s deaths while recovering in the hospital. Now 19, the driver, Luke Resecker, was acquitted of intoxication manslaughter but convicted of aggravated assault and other charges, receiving a 65-year prison sentence he is currently appealing. Seventeen-year-old Deven Young is accused of brutally murdering paddleboarder Sunshine "Sunny" Stewart on July 2nd in Maine while on vacation with his family. After a two-week manhunt, investigators arrested Young, who allegedly misled police during the search and gave conflicting stories; Stewart was found with blunt force injuries and signs of strangulation.
