Drunk driver Stephanie Sykes sped through a Milwaukee street at around 80 mph in September 2024, hitting sisters Talise and De-Lisha Dunmore, killing one instantly and severely injuring the other before fleeing the scene. Sykes, who had multiple prior DUIs, was arrested soon after, admitted she had blacked out from heavy drinking, and ultimately pled guilty to four felony charges, receiving a 28-year prison sentence. Tragically, weeks after Sykes’ conviction, surviving sister De-Lisha was shot and killed in an unrelated incident, leaving the Dunmore family devastated once again. A woman dressed in a police costume was arrested in Boardman, Ohio, after allegedly assaulting an officer. Police took Kaylee Dunas, 22, into custody after a simple traffic stop took a dramatic turn. Dunas and her boyfriend were pulled over for a traffic incident the weekend before Halloween, before she revealed her boyfriend had a warrant for his arrest. Officers acted on the warrant and arrested the boyfriend, seemingly planning to let Dunas off the hook, but she had other plans. The 22-year-old can be seen on body camera video berating police while dressed as one, even going so far as to allegedly kick one officer. Bodycam footage shows the moment a New Mexico man was arrested in connection with a bust with an estimated worth of $1 million, according to police. An officer with the Albuquerque Police Department knocked on a hotel room door after a check of a vehicle in the parking lot alerted him that the owner had an arrest warrant for robbery. That’s when 28-year-old Xavier Garcia answered, but police were looking for 24-year-old Merena Perez. Perez quickly came to the door and was taken into custody, but it was too late. A Florida woman was met by police after calling 911 and reporting her roommate as a missing person. Gisselle Victoria-Gonzalez claimed she hasn't seen her roommate, Runyleidy Medina-Pacheco, since Christmas Day. Gisselle moved out of that Orlando apartment shortly after, while detectives investigated Runy's disappearance. Bodycam video shows the scene after a fatal shooting in Coweta County, where Cheryl Howell Coe told deputies her husband had been shot during a late-night disturbance. Newly released bodycam video shows University of Iowa police responding to a late-night fire alarm at the Alpha Delta Phi house on November 15, 2024, where they discovered 56 shirtless pledges covered in muck in what officers described as a “significant hazing event.” As police tried to investigate, a man identifying himself as “Jose,” later identified as Joseph Gaya, allegedly blocked doorways, burped in officers’ faces, hurled a homophobic slur, and attempted to stop them from questioning the frightened pledges. Gaya was arrested and charged with interfering with the investigation, but the charge was later dismissed. The fraternity was ultimately suspended until at least 2029.
