Investigators uncovered evidence linking 18-year-old Kristian Ard, including phone records, Clorox wipes, a shell casing, and pre-911 phone activity, leading to her 20-year prison sentence after interrogations and a polygraph.
On July 23, 2020, Eloy Lebron was fatally shot through his truck’s windshield on West Anderson Street in Orlando. Two witnesses identified the shooter. Marqia Hamilton, 18, was linked via GPS and surveillance footage showing her at the scene despite her claim of innocence. Detectives initially dismissed her but later re-interviewed her, revealing inconsistencies in her account.
On September 8, 2017, 19-year-old Andrew Willson reported finding his mother dead in bed with no forced entry or stolen items. Detectives suspected him as the only other person present. After interrogation, he confessed to an argument over a puppy his mother forbade him to keep. He received a life sentence without parole.
On April 27, 2021, Jayla Wyatt was shot six times in her Zanesville, Ohio, apartment. Devin McKnelly, who did not fire the gun, allegedly gave his girlfriend the weapon, drove her to her door, and waited outside before leaving. On April 27, 2021, 20-year-old Tristaney Baker was accused of fatally shooting 23-year-old Jayla Wyatt in her apartment. Baker's boyfriend allegedly provided the gun and drove her there. During her interrogation, she denied gun knowledge and joked, while police had already spoken to her boyfriend.
On April 7, 2018, teenagers in Lehigh Acres, Florida, ordered a taxi to a dead-end road, fatally shooting 46-year-old Hinso Estriplet after demanding $150. Ricky Ligonde, 20, the driver, confessed without resistance, though friends later implicated him, leading to his 20-year prison sentence.
In October 2014, 20-year-old Skylar Nemetz shot his 19-year-old wife, Danielle, in the back of the head during a domestic incident. He claimed it was an accident, stating he was disarming an unloaded rifle. However, his failure to call 911, hide the weapon, and lack of blood on him raised suspicions. In September 2018, Karen Navarra's coworker found her dead in her San Jose home. Her stepfather, Anthony Aiello, claimed he left after a brief visit, but Fitbit data showed her activity post-visit, conflicting with surveillance indicating his car remained outside. He was arrested, charged with murder, and died in custody before trial, resulting in no conviction.
In 2016, Tucker Reed shot and killed her uncle Shane Moore during a domestic dispute, claiming self-defense. Released on bail, she later starred in a horror film where her character fatally shoots someone. Police discovered she had filmed the incident, showing her provoking Moore and standing over his body without apparent accident. In October 2024, Linda Polk, who had cared for Steven Zarnowitz for three years, faced charges of first-degree murder and real estate fraud after forging documents to transfer his $430,000 house into her name days after his death. The notary stamp on the documents was expired, and the family learned of his death through a realtor, not Polk, who remained calm and cooperative during police investigation.
