Shawn Michael Grate is an American convicted serial killer and former drifter who murdered five young women from 2006 to September 2016 in and around northern Ohio. Grate was convicted on two counts of aggravated murder on May 7th, 2018, in Ashland County, pleaded guilty to two additional murders on March 1st, 2019, in Richland County, and pleaded guilty to another murder on September 11, 2019, in Marion County. Grate was sentenced to death and is scheduled to be executed in 2025. Genene Anne Jones is an American serial killer, responsible for the deaths of up to 60 infants and children in her care as a licensed vocational nurse during the 1970s and 1980s. The exact number of victims remains unknown; hospital officials allegedly misplaced and then destroyed records of Jones' activities, to prevent further litigation after Jones' first conviction. The killing of Tim McLean occurred on the evening of 30 July 2008. McLean, a 22-year-old Canadian man, was stabbed, beheaded, and cannibalized while riding a Greyhound Canada bus along the Trans-Canada Highway, about 30 km west of Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. On 5 March 2009, his killer, 40-year-old Vince Li was found not criminally responsible for the murder and remanded to a high-security mental health facility in Selkirk, Manitoba, where he was detained until his release on 8 May 2015. Robert Anderson was a Serial Killer in South Dakota. He bragged about how he liked torturing and murdering women. He was a Sexual Sadist and Predator. He was accused of murdering two women, Piper Streyle, who was 28 years old, and Larisa Dumansky, who was 29 years old. Also accused of the attempted kidnapping of Amy Anderson. Robert Anderson was married twice and had four children. A fellow cellmate of Robert Anderson, Brunner, testified against him for a reduced sentence for his own crimes. His strong testimony led detectives to evidence hidden at Robert Anderson's grandmother's house. Anderson's friend, Walker, was tried separately as an accessory to kidnapping and murder. He received a 30-year sentence. Robert Anderson was sentenced to death by lethal injection. In December of 2002, while waiting on the Appeal of his conviction, Robert Anderson's father killed himself, a gunshot wound to his head. A short while later, Robert Anderson was placed in isolation, taken off death row for possessing a razor blade. It was speculated he was going to do harm to himself. On March 30th, 2003, 3 months after his father's suicide, Robert Anderson committed suicide. He was found hanging in his cell by a sheet tied to the bar. He was manipulated by the police to make a false confession due to his mental incapacities. Arridy was moderately mentally disabled and was 23 years old when he was executed on January 6, 1939. Erica Lynn Parsons was a 13-year-old girl from Salisbury, North Carolina, who disappeared mysteriously in 2011. On July 30, 2013, Erica's brother Jamie reported to police she was missing and that he had not seen her since November 2011, stating their parents "killed Erica and buried her in our back yard", but later retracted this. Erica had been adopted at birth and raised by Sandy and Casey Parsons, relatives of her biological mother. When questioned by police, the Parsons claimed that Erica went to live with her biological paternal grandmother. Further investigation revealed Erica had not been seen alive since her disappearance in 2011, and police could not find evidence to support the existence of the grandmother, who relatives claimed was already deceased. In 2014, Casey and Sandy Parsons were convicted of fraudulently accepting federal benefits for Erica when she was not living with them. Scott Lee Kimball is a convicted serial killer, con man, and fraudster from Boulder County, Colorado, who murdered at least four people over a two-year period; investigators strongly suspect him in as many as 21 other unsolved killings. For the first year of his murder activity, he worked as an informant for the FBI, which both paid him and protected him from facing justice over some of his fraud schemes. Almost none of the information he gave the bureau was of any use in prosecuting other crimes, and much of it later proved false; the case greatly embarrassed the bureau. The agent who oversaw him during this period was disciplined; he insists he was not the only one responsible for enabling Kimball. Larry William Eyler was an American serial killer who is believed to have murdered a minimum of twenty-one teenage boys and young men in a series of killings committed in the Midwest between 1982 and 1984. Convicted and sentenced to death by lethal injection for the 1984 kidnapping and murder of 16-year-old Daniel Bridges, he later voluntarily confessed to the 1982 murder of 23-year-old Steven Agan, offering to also confess to his culpability in twenty further unsolved homicides if the state of Illinois would commute his sentence to life imprisonment without parole. Eyler died of AIDS-related complications in 1994 while incarcerated on death row. Shortly before his death, he confessed to the murders of twenty further young men and boys to his defense attorney Kathleen Zellner, although he denied being physically responsible for the actual murder of Bridges, which he insisted had been committed by an alleged accomplice in five of his homicides, Robert David Little. With her client's consent, Zellner posthumously released Eyler's confession following the formal announcement of his death. Eyler was known as the Interstate Killer and the Highway Killer due to the fact many of his confirmed and alleged victims were discovered across several midwestern states in locations close to or accessible via the Interstate Highway System.
