Gary Arthur Allen was acquitted of a 1997 murder in the United Kingdom. He would kill again over 20 years later in 2018. This latest murder caused authorities to request a retrial for his 1997 acquittal and try Allen for both murders. The English laws relating to double jeopardy were amended in 2003 opening Allen up to the possibility of a retrial.
