Prosecutors in South Carolina are pushing for all nine teens accused in the murder of 16-year-old Trey Wright to be tried as adults, including a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old. Investigators say Wright’s girlfriend, Gianna Kirstenmacher, orchestrated the deadly encounter fueled by social media messages, while 19-year-old Devan Raper allegedly pulled the trigger. Even though Raper remains in jail, most of the other suspects have been released on bond, as prosecutors prepare to argue that under state law, everyone involved can be held equally responsible for Wright’s death.
