Nobody had ever been charged with her disappearance, but the FBI never gave up the search. Mid October 2022 they finalized yet another search of the Houck properties, and have new evidence that could propel this case forward and give Crystal Roger's family the justice they deserve! Let's take a look at where we are now... The FBI took over the investigation of this case in 2020, and have since conducted multiple searches in and around Bardstown. There were more than 150 federal agents that served search warrants in August of 2020 at three different sites owned by the Houck family, focusing primarily on the family farm located in Bardstown, owned by Brooks Houck's mother. In 2021 the FBI searched a subdivision where Brooks Houck owned properties. They even dug up a driveway and hauled the debris off in trucks. When the 2021 search was concluded, the FBI stated they found several "items of interest" that were sent to the lab in Quantico Virginia for further testing. The must have found something, because on September 27th, 2023 Brooks Houck was indicted with the murder of Crystal Rogers and tampering with evidence...He is being held on a $10 million bond. Brooks filed a motion to reduce the bond, and it was denied. He is now being held in the Oldham County Detention Center. 2 Other men, 53 year old Steve Lawson and his son, 32 year old Joseph Lawson were also arrested in connection with the disappearance of Crystal and charged with conspiracy to commit murder and complicity to tampering with physical evidence. If Steven Lawson sounds familiar, he was the man that Brooks mentioned and called during his interview with detectives. And something about that call didn't make sense to the detective conducting the interview. Investigators are still looking for evidence to link the Houck's with the death of Crystals father Tommy Ballard and also with the ambush death of officer Jason Ellis in May of 2013... The FBI is awaiting test results to come back on the firearm they believe was used in the murder of Tommy Ballard, a firearm that was purchased from Nick Houck, who used a fake name when he sold the rifle. At this point, nobody has been charged with either of those deaths, and Crystals body has never been found. A 2 year old boy by the name of Jordan Belliveau is reported missing by his mother, Charisse Stinson. Charisse told Largo police that she took a ride from a man, and that man kidnapped her son. An Amber Alert was sent out, and a massive search was launched. Days later, Jordan's body was found in a wooded area in Largo Florida... This interview took place on September 4th, 2018, just days after Jordan was reported missing. This is the full interrogation of Charisse Stinson, stay tuned to the end for the conclusion. Conclusion/spoilers Charisse changed her story with police, and told them that she struck Jordan, causing him to hit his head on a wall, resulting in him having a seizure... She said he died a few hours later. It was determined by a medical examiner that Jordan's cause of death was blunt force trauma. Charisse fabricated a story to cover up what she had done, and gave herself injuries to make her original abduction story more believable... In the end, the truth... Or at least most of it, came out. She was charged with 1st degree murder, and was likely facing a life sentence... In October of 2020, Charisse Stinson pleaded guilty to 2nd degree murder as part of a plea deal, and was sentenced to 50 years in prison. She is currently serving her time in Lowell Correctional Institution in Ocala, FL. She is scheduled to be released in July of 2067. The death of Jordan Belliveau inspired "Jordan's Law," a bill named after the toddler, to be passed on July 1st of 2020. This bill requires communication between law enforcement agencies and the Florida Department of Children and Families related to certain individuals involved in child welfare system. It would require lighter case loads for case workers, and provide more child welfare and mental health programs to families. No doubt this bill will save lives in the long run. This is the full police interrogation of Christopher Ruether... July 11th, 2019... Fountain Hills Arizona, a town just a few miles outside of Phoenix. Police are called on an apparent shooting in the parking lot behind Bruno's Bar. Detained at the scene is 25 year old Christopher Ruether. The victim of the shooting is 28 year old Matthew Gilmore... He would not survive... After being questioned in the parking lot, Ruether is then transported to the police station and questioned about the events that occurred that night. (Conclusion) On July 13th, 2023, Christopher Ruether was sentenced to 8 years for Manslaughter and is being housed at a private facility in Arizona. (Story) September 3rd, 2019, Phoenix Arizona. 28 year old Christopher Kindred was shot in broad daylight in front of the Sonic on North 19th Ave. The suspect was seen by multiple witnesses running to a nearby apartment complex, where it was later determined he was a resident. This suspects name is Jose Amparano, who was 33 years old at the time. After being detained, he was transported to the Phoenix Police Department for questioning, along with his girlfriend and another person apparently living in the apartment. This is the interrogation of Jose Amparano. (Conclusion) On January 29th of 2021, Jose Amparano was sentenced to 22 years for murder in the 2nd degree and is scheduled to be released in August of 2041. He is currently serving his time at Arizona State Prison Complex, Yuma.
