On November 21st, 2022, police in Las Cruces, New Mexico, were dispatched to conduct a welfare check at the home of 69-year-old Cynthia Berendzen. Family and friends had grown concerned after not hearing from her for several days. A friend of Cynthia’s met officers at the residence and provided a spare key to help them gain entry into the home.
