Dale Hausner and Sam Dieteman were behind a string of murders in Phoenix. Ron Horton, a friend of Sam's, grew suspicious after hearing Sam boast about the killings. When a young woman, Robin Blasik, was murdered, Ron reported his concerns to the police. Surveillance on Sam and Dale led to key evidence, including maps of crime scenes and shotgun shells. A raid on Dale's apartment uncovered weapons. While Sam confessed, Dale denied any involvement, even holding a press conference to declare his innocence. Both were arrested, and Dale was convicted but never showed remorse, dying by suicide in 2013. The community has since moved on from the fear they once lived in.
