The disturbing true crime case started when a wife reported her husband missing... only to have police learn that he and his mistress of 15 years vanished while on a camping trip. But this wasn't a case of fatal attraction or a deadly affair. When investigators discovered arson at the pair's campsite, they realized that they were dealing with a real life horror story that went from missing to murder. With so many people coming and going from the area, detectives knew they were dealing with a real life murder mystery. CCTV footage and a series of full police interviews allowed investigators to hone in on a suspect - the man at the neighboring campsite. A wiretap let detectives gather even more evidence before confronting their prime suspect in a full police interrogation. Ultimately, investigators were able to extract a full confession and solve this unbelievable true crime case. The public was shocked to discover the perp was an unexpected killer who seemed to have snapped, proving that the phrase "fear thy neighbor" even applies at campsites. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- During March 2020, Robyn Hill reported her husband of 50 years, Russell missing. Robyn told police that Russell had gone camping in Wonnangatta Valley in Victoria, Australia - but hadn't checked in in 5 days. Police raced up to Wonnangatta Valley, where they found a burnt out campsite. At the campsite was food, personal items, and ID from Russell Hill and his childhood sweetheart, Carol Clay. The pair were both declared missing - likely the victims of foul play. As detectives looked into the case, they learned that Russell and Carol had rekindled their relationship, maintaining a long-term affair for the last 15 years. Investigators looked at a number of suspects, but couldn't find anyone with the motive and opportunity to make Russell and Carol disappear. Then, surveillance footage that captured the road by the valley showed a Nissan Patrol leaving shortly after the time the couple were last seen. Police traced the vehicle back to pilot and avid hunter Greg Lynn. As investigators continued gathering evidence, their suspicions of Lynn grew. They bugged his home, even hearing him interacting with his wife as they watched a news program about the murders. Shortly after, Lynn tried to alter his Patrol to make it look less like the police sketch of the vehicle shown on TV. When Lynn headed out to camp close to where the murders took place, police leapt into action. They apprehended him and brought him to the station for questioning... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Channel Disclaimer: This video is for educational purposes to help understand police interrogation techniques and understand the mind of a murderer.
