She had been recovering from surgery after selflessly donating a kidney to one of her nursing students. The level of overkill suggested the crime was deeply personal. Police learned that Renee had recently separated from her husband Michael, and the pair had been going through a messy divorce. Police served a search warrant on his home, but found no incriminating evidence. Investigators also learned Michaelās brother Charles, known as Beau, had disapproved of the relationship with Renee and had even refused to attend their wedding. This made him a suspect... until Beau provided an alibi.
