Episode 21: Who killed Suzy? Update (2025)

Has the main suspect in Britain’s biggest ever missing persons hunt taken his secret to the grave? Police were convinced serial rapist and murderer John Cannan abducted Suzy Lamplugh at an estate agent viewing 40 years ago but couldn’t get enough evidence. This week a prison inquiry into Cannan’s death behind bars ruled he passed sway from natural causes and he’d been well cared for - in contrast to his evil acts against a string of women. Cannan has always denied involvement with Suzy but Professor of Criminology David Wilson is in no doubt about Cannan’s guilt, that he was a serial killer - and probably dumped her body in a trunk before pushing it into a canal!
